After finding the cache on Gils Hill and Paint Mountain I made the ridge run to the west and scrambled up the rocks to find the Benchmark Wiley. Anytime I find a BM without a cache I feel compelled to add one. I also found and added a new cache at the Wiley Azimuth Mark for you to find.
I parked along the Wiley’s Well road just to the west of Gils Hill and headed out walking cross country to the WP “start” for Gils Hill. After logging that cache I followed the directions provided in the Paint Mountain Summit Cache from the saddle east of Gils Hill to the ridge between Paint and Wiley. From there it is east to the Paint Mountain and west to BM Wiley and the new cache there. I returned the route I had taken up with a stop on the way back to my truck at the Azimuth Mark for Wiley and this new hide. The hike to the Benchmark Wiley is not to be taken lightly while the hike from the road to this cache is mostly flat with a short climb to the summit of a small hill where the Azimuth Mark and this cache are located.
