La gare de Lacanau-Ville a connu une activité très florissante car elle se situait à la jonction des deux lignes Bordeaux-Bruges/Lacanau Océan et Lesparre/Saint Symphorien via Facture. Elle était l'une des plus importantes du réseau. Répertoriée hors classe, elle comprenait un bâtiment principal avec annexes, un dépôt pouvant abriter 4 locomotives, un atelier de réparations et plusieurs voies. La gare a fermé en 1978 et il ne reste plus rien de ces installations qui ont été remplacées par une résidence et la maison de retraite. On se contentera donc de la jolie halle en bois au bord de ce qui est maintenant une piste cyclable .
The Lacanau-Ville station was thriving at a time. It was located at the junction of the lines Bordeaux-Bruges / Lacanau Ocean and Lesparre / Saint Symphorien via Facture . It was a most important station on this network. It included: a main building, a depot for 4 locomotives, a repair shop and several tracks. The line was closed in 1978 and replaced by a cycling path during the 1980s. There is nothing left of this station which has been replaced by a residence and a retirement home. The lovely wooden hall certainly deserves a bit of attention.
