Geocache Description:

This event is a lunch time celebration of Leap year on the 29th of February.

This is a special day in the geocaching calendar because it happens less than every 4th year and finding a cache on this day is required by anybody who attempts to find a cache on 366 different days of the year.  Further celebration of this day is marked by earning a souvenir.

The venue is selected based on the proximity of a fair number of geocachers who I have met over the years who work in town.  Johannesburg is a fairly large city and there are a number of venues which we would gather at. However, I have chosen a venue which I like and visit fairly often. It is the "Market Place" in the atrium of the Standard Bank Head Office. The restaurant provides a good selection of meals for breakfast or lunch. I recommend entering the building from Simmonds Street and taking a visit to "Ferreira Mine Stope Earthcache" which is across the hall from the restaurant.

If you intend to drive to the venue, then parking arrangements must be made at least a day in advance or one can see if there is space at the Thorpe Street Parkade; see the waypoints.  Contact the CO in need.

A table has been reserved from 11:00 to 14:00.  The expectations are that people will drift in and out over the period, perhaps staying for an hour. This is done in anticipation of the known fact that work diaries look more like a game of Tetris than a planner.
