Geocache Description:

My first trip to Lundy - another British island to add to my collection - and a chance to meet other cachers on this rock in the Bristol Channel, off the Devon coast. Bring your own boat/aircraft, make it a holiday or visit as a day-tripper and help me claim the island for the People of Freedonia!

Where: The green beside the pub, unless it's too wet/windy, in which case it'll be in the pub.

When: 12.45pm-1.15pm on Tuesday the 19th of July 2016.

Who: Intrepid cachers (no dogs except Assistance Dogs I'm afraid) from far and wide. New to caching or cache events? You'll be made especially welcome.

Why: I have a looong history of visiting islands (see my Event History for some caching ones, since 2007's momentous trip to St Kilda) and have wanted to come to Lundy for many years. 2016 puts me in the right place at the right time, so today's the day!

What: Just a quick gathering to swap travel items and caching stories. No gimmicks - being on Lundy is novelty enough! Bring a picnic?

How: Getting to Lundy isn't so easy, but you can bring your own boat or aircraft, or book a trip aboard the MS Oldenburg. It's expected to land at noon and leave at 4.30pm-ish, meaning this event could be done as part of a quick day-trip to Lundy. On July 19th it's expected to leave Ilfracombe at 10am and land back there at 6.30pm.

There's a Groundspeak Forum thread about this meet too. : Lundy on Wikipedia

By The Nickster, who helped convince me to visit the island, where she's held two events in the past: "Lundy is beautiful (if weather-beaten!) special place in the Bristol Channel, and only accessible by boat (about 2 hours on the Lundy supply ship Oldenburg) or helicopter..."

Additional Hints (Decrypt)

[It's simple. Follow your GPS to the stated location at the correct time. It's on an island though, so plan ahead if you intend to attend!]
