Geocache Description:

Updated 2/25/16
I had to move the event date forward to Saturday Feb. 27th because I have to be at the Wisconsin Geocaching Association annual board meeting on March 5th in Wausau. March 5th seemed like the only date possible so volunteered to move this event for it to work out. Thank you for understanding.

I am going to have Pizza Hut deliver a couple pepperoni pizzas right to the parking lot. If you want to order anything special just write a note and call it in to Pizza Hut and they can deliver it all at one time. I am willing to pay for 2 pizzas. Phone number is (715) 834-5346.

This year we will bring our Snowshoeing Pot Luck, Geocaching and Hot Chocolate Party down to Lowes Creek. Just south of Eau Claire.

Event will be held at Lowes Creek Parking Area. There is a $3 parking fee. There is a pavilion so why not have snack type potluck like the first year.

Starting time will be 5:45 p.m. Please bring a dish to pass. Everyone should bring their own drink and hot chocolate but drinks to share are always encouraged.

Approximately at 6:30 p.m, for those interested, we will go out snowshoeing and grab some caches. You should bring a headlamp or clip-on light. Flashlights will work but not as accommodating as a head lamp. Snowshoeing in the dark with a headlamp is one of the best ways to snowshoe. If you haven't done it before you will be pleasantly surprised how great it is. If there is no snow then snowshoes will be optional (like last year) You probably don't even need snowshoes if you don't have them because of the packed trails.  Cross country skis could work well too. Just don't run over the snowshoers.

Glow sticks not provided. If you want you could wear a glow stick. This event would give you a reason to wear one.

Please post any suggestions or what you might be bringing to share and number of people.

See ya there.
