Look out Bathurst!
Here we come!!!
Geocaching NSW would like to extend an invitation to all geocachers to travel to Bathurst located in the beautiful Central Tablelands area for our 2016 Regional Invasion during the weekend of the 27th/28th February.
Bathurst is around a 2½hour drive from Parramatta and is well within the reach of many geocachers.
There are lots of fabulous geocaches to be found in this region so why not team up with a few friends and enjoy a fantastic weekend of geocaching fun.
On the Saturday evening, we will meet at the Bathurst Panthers Club for an enjoyable dinner get-together. According to their website, Duncan's Bar and Grill provides a quality food experience with value for money.
Event details are as follows:
Date: Saturday, 27th February, 2016
Venue: Bathurst Panthers– 132 Piper St, Bathurst
Time: 6:00pm to 8:00pm for dinner
Menu: We will be dining in Duncan's Bar and Grill. The menu is modern Australian – with a range of steaks, fish, chicken and pasta meals available. The Bistro also serves gluten free meals.
Cost: Meals can be paid for at time of ordering.
Bookings: To assist us with determining numbers for this event so tables can be booked, could you please indicate how many from your team will be dining with us in your “Will Attend” log. Based on the information provided in those logs, we will be confirming numbers with the club on Thursday, 25th February.
Dress: Normal club dress regulations apply including footwear.
After dining, for those who would like to, we will gather in one of the club's lounge areas to continue our socialising. If there are geocachers who would like to attend this event but don't wish to dine with us, then this would be the time to come along. If this is what you prefer, in your "Will Attend" log, could you please indicate that you will not be dining with us.
There is plenty of accommodation around Bathurst including B&Bs, hotels, motels, caravan and camping parks. An internet search will come up with a number of options for you to choose from.
Events are a great way to meet new people and make new friends with a common interest, pick up the latest information on equipment, techniques and software and share stories about the latest caching adventure. You may even pick up a hint or two on those annoying DNFs.
