This event has TWO LOCATIONS at different times today, please read the cache page for all of the information you may need. You can attend one or both locations to log a smiley.
LOCATION ONE: The first location is at the posted coordinates. We will be meeting here from 9:15am until 10:45am. The main purpose of this portion is to help you prepare your proxies that you want made. Bring any coin(s) that you want to make a proxy for. Depending on attendance and coins, we will start with one each person and add from there. I will help photograph the front and back, edit it in PhotoShop for the size you are creating it, and submit it to a local print shop.
If you do not want to have a proxy made, still come! Have questions about trackables? COME. Want to add to your coin collection? COME. Only want a smiley? COME. We will have a free raffle for a gold GCCO geocoin around 10am.
I will be assisting people setting up their proxies and teaching them about them until 10:45am. Then, this portion of the event is over. This will give everyone time to grab supplies for the type of proxy they want to make, and I can pick up the prints. I will cover cost of 2" and smaller proxy prints and some supplies will be provided, more info as we move forward.
LOCATION TWO: This location isn't required for those who aren't having a proxy made, but you are welcome to join the fun. This portion will begin at 12:30pm and go until we are done, probably no later than 2:00pm. These coordinates are in the waypoints as LOCATION TWO. It will be at my house. Here we will create the proxies we have prepared. I am going to make mod podge proxies, but you can make yours however you please. The related webpage will give you ideas and supplies needed. The mod podge takes about 20 minutes to dry on each side, so that is why I chose a comfortable place we can do crafts and hang out.
I will have another raffle at this portion for a 7" wooden proxy. Bring a coin you want made just in case you win so I can photograph it. After it is made, I can release it in the wild or meet up with the winner to give it to them. It will be a mod podge wooden proxy.
