The road to this virtual cache is dirt with the occasional badger hole. A truck or S.U.V. is appropriate but you won't need 4-wheel drive. The family car can be used if you view maps ahead of time and drive carefully. The cache itself is very close to the road and is smack dab in the middle of snake country during the warm months. Ironicaly the hotter the day the cooler this cache seems. I have only been to this spot 1 time and not felt cold air blowing right up out of the hole.
When coming from the north go to this waypoint:
N 43 deg 11.150
W 116 deg 10.876
and swing around to the west.
All roads to the west of the "range" road (the one dropping south of the military tower(Chrismas Mountain) at the N.W. corner of the range) including the "range" road are legal for travel on the west side of the training range.
The other side is marked no trespassing.
I recommend viewing Google Earth prior to attempting. A picture is worth a 1000 words.
To verify your find please send an email with the length and width of the crack, or post a photo of yourself at the cache site.
PLEASE DO NOT ENTER THE CAVE UNLESS YOU ARE OR ARE WITH AN EXPERIENCED SPELUNKER. THIS WILL HELP PREVENT DAMAGE TO YOU AND THE CAVE ITS SELF. Watch for snakes!
