Geocache Description:

Continue along the bottom edge of the field and through a kissing gate into the woods. The path then comes out of the woods, and over an old bridge. Please ensure that you replace the cache as you found it.

Generic Series Information:

The Coleridge series takes the cacher in a loop from the village of Colerne to Euridge, Widdenham and back, on a route of just under 4 miles. This may be done in its' own right, or as an extension of the Thickridge Eight series. If done on its' own, parking is available in the village as shown on the descriptions for caches 7, 8 and 9.  The parking at the indicated location and nearby estates is unrestricted, but please note that closer parking along the high street and market place is restricted to the specified time limits. If you do start the loop at Colerne, then at Euridge you will pass two of the Thickridge Eight caches followed a little further on by Mr Monk Monk's Wood. There is also the church micro in Colerne. The wooded section of the route between #17 & #20 has a narrow path and a long steep bank at the side in places. There are some steep hills, and in the winter much of the route can become extremely muddy; - sturdy walking boots are recommended. The elevations, starting from #1 are as follows:

Many of the caches are in clip top boxes of varying sizes in camouflaged bags. Please fold in the sides of the cache bag before you close it over to ensure that it remains watertight. No caches are hidden in or on dry stone walls, so please take care not to disturb these in any way. Some fields may contain cattle or sheep, so please ensure that you keep your dog on a lead. If you bring a dog, in the unlikely event of cattle chasing you should release your dog and allow him to run away. I have always found them to be very friendly.

The Little Bridges series was started by Stanthews in 2009 to highlight small footbridges in remote parts of Wiltshire. Since then the series has been expanded by others all over the country and starting to spread fast, Damian from Winter Foxes has created and updates a list of cachers who has found 10 or more little bridges and can be found here, if you would like to add to the series, please contact Stan on stanthews@aol.com and he will give you a number for your bridge, to qualify, the bridge must be a foot bridge too small for vehicles, please make sure your title exactly matches “Little Bridges # xx then name” including spaces so it will get picked up and added to Damian’s list.
