The Church
Some years ago, the Anglican Church (Chapel of Ease) in Dobwalls was in a poor state of repair.
The local Anglican and Methodist congregations came up with the plan to sell off the old church, which was then converted to a house, and to combine their purse and purpose in the refurbished Methodist Church.
The conversion of the old Methodist Church was completed to a very high standard and the building now provides a warm and comfortable place of worship for both congregations.
Unlike many such experiments of combining resources and modes of worship, this one has proved to be very successful and the building and ministry continue to serve the local community.
The church is normally open during the daytime and it is worth a wander inside - especially on a cold day.
The Cache
The headline coordinates take you to the gravestone nearest to the church entrance porch.
From this gravestone you need to obtain the following information:
William Paynter West died April AB ACDA aged EF years
also, his sister Caroline died Sep BE rd ADGH aged JK years
The cache can be found at N 50 BH.HJD W 004 EA.AKG
The cache is a small click lock box with room for small swaps and TBs.
Please replace the covering stone.
The GZ is a short drive away and gives you a chance to see the depth of the cutting that was created when the Dobwalls bypass was built.
There is room to park at the GZ whilst retrieving the cache.
