Scuppernong nature trail. Part of the Ottawa recreation area. State park fee required. No pets on trail. Leave 25 cents and take a trail guide. Total hike is around 1.9 miles. More if you check out the marl pits and Indian Spring
Park at N42 56.132 W088 28.450. Resist entering from Hwy 67. The highlight of this cache are the springs. Near the cache is the Scuppernong spring which is the beginning of the stream. All but the last 200 feet or so is on trail. Once you have found the cache, continue on the trail, back to the parking lot. Along the way are some highlights that you won't want to miss. At N42 56.095 W88 28.038 is an intersection. Walk down to the stream and there is the Hotel Springs. You can see the water bubbling up from the ground in many places. I got on my knees and took a drink. Still alive and feeling fine. Further down the trail is the ugliest tree I've ever seen. Its at N42 56.144 / W88 28.026. From there the walk back may be a little muddy.
The cache is an ammo box.
