Geocache Description:

Located in Mingo Creek County Park in Washington County, about 4 miles west of Monongahela, PA.

Mingo Creek County Park is a State Wildflower Preserve, so expect to see many beautiful flowers on your trek. Park at the trailhead for Hemlock Trail and go over the bridge to keep from getting wet. When I get the parking coordinates, I will post them on this page. The park is easy to find from both Rte. 136 and Rte. 88, which are near the new PA-43 turnpike and I-70. Anyway, the wildlife is plentiful here, and there are paved hiking and biking trails along with a 14 miles or so of horseback riding trails. Enjoy the area and take time to explore. My kids love swimming in the creek and looking for crawfish and salamanders. Mingo Creek is approved trout waters, so when it's trout season, you may want to bring your rod and reel. Hope you have fun and are successful in finding the cache! (Tell me if the coordinates are off, because even though I averaged, the signals were very jumpy. Thanks!)Mingo Creek County Park is a State Wildflower Preserve, so expect to see many beautiful flowers on your trek.
