Kratka zgodba o nastanku:
Tisti dan so bili malčki še posebej lačni. Odločil sem se, da grem po živež za svojo družino.
Prečil sem mimo hiše, iz katere se je razlegal sproščen vrišč in smeh. Tako me je prevzel ta zvok, da sem za trenutek postal nepozoren in … naenkrat se mi je stemnilo pred očmi …
Slišim otroški glas - nič več se ne smeje, temveč pomirjujoče šepeta. Zavem se – avvv – kako me boli noga! Ko izginejo še zvezdice izpred oči, se prestrašim njegove bližine. Otroke imam rad, a le od daleč.
Kljub temu sem vesel, ko mi Lukec oskrbi nogo – olajšanje je takojšnje. Dvigne me in me položi v temen prostor, kjer mi je toplo in udobno. Tukaj se počutim res varno.
Naslednji dan je noga že boljše in ugotavljam, da je to zavetje lahko moj dom, naš novi dom. Pomislim na številčno družino, ki me čaka, lačni in verjetno v skrbeh. Veselje ob odkritju novega doma mi da polet in odhitim ponje.
Od sedaj nas bo vseh sedem živelo varno in udobno na 20 cm2. Privadili smo se vrišču in smehu, predvsem pa odvečni hrani v bližini. Za vedno bomo Lukcu hvaležni za nov dom.

Passing a house, I heard relaxed shrieks and laughter coming out of it. The sound overwhelmed me, for a moment I was not aware of where I am going and all of a sudden everything went black. I hear a child's voice - he isn't laughing any more, he is whispering soothingly. I am aware now - ouch - how my leg hurts! When the stars in front of my eyes disappear, I get frightened of the nearness of him. I like children, but only from afar. In spite of this, I'm happy when little Luke takes care of my leg - the relief is instantaneous. He lifts me and lays me down in a dark place where I am warm and comfortable. I really feel safe here. The next day my leg is already better and I realize that this shelter could be my new home, our home. Thinking of my numerous family, waiting for me hungry and probably worried, I feel joy and enthusiasm upon finding us a new home, so I hurry to get them. From now on all seven of us will live comfortably on 20 cm2. We got used to the shrieks and laughter, and particularly to the excess food nearby. We will forever be grateful to little Luke for our new home.
