V teh koncih smo vohrni. Zato nikogar ne boste slišali, da bi čudoviti razgledni osamelec nad Jezerskim imenoval Žmitkov špic ali celo Olipov rob, kot se najde s strani kartomercev iznajden, pa od domačinov neuporabljan izraz na zemljevidih. Kajti če je ime predolgo, se jezik kaj prehitro obrabi. Zato se tisti špic seveda bere kot šp'c, pomeni pa prav isto. Skalno špico, ki iznad macesnov pogleda prav toliko, da jo sonce lepo obsije in pogled odplava vsaj do Virnikovega Grintovca, če že ne kam drugam. Posedeti tam na vrhu je v vsakem letnem času lepo. Toda najlepše nedvomno jeseni, ko macesen, preden odvrže svoje iglice, postane žareče rumen.

In kam bo treba, kako naprej, kje zaviti? Najbolje, da avto pustimo na Zgornjem Jezerskem, pred propadajočim poslopjem nekdanje Kazine je prostora več kot dovolj. Od tam stopimo proti farni cerkvi sv. Ožbolta in če nas notranjost ne premami, nadaljujemo mimo župnišča v smeri Virnikovega Grintovca. Ko pridemo do nove gozdne ceste zavijemo levo in pri Žmitku ujamemo stezo, ki podprta z markacijami pelje prav. Ko pridemo do sedelca (glej podane točke), zavijemo levo in že po nekaj minutah se levo od skalne gmote, s pomočjo vrvi in lestve vzpnemo do vršnega grebena, ki nas po nekaj deset metrih pripelje na vrh s klopco in vpisno knjigo. Višinskih metrov ni veliko, kakšnih dvesto jih bomo nabrali, minut pa precej manj. Če se ne bomo obirali, bomo v pol ure že uživali na sončku. Nevarnosti do pod vrha ni nobenih, tam pa le popazimo nase in na nadobudno mladino, če jo imamo s seboj.

We who live in the area are stingy. That's why you will not hear anybody call this lone rock formation "Žmitkov špic" or even "Olipov rob" - a name that was invented by cartographers and consequently, it is usually found on maps, but never used by the locals. Because, if a name is too long, the tongue wears out too quickly. Thus the locals pronounce "špic" as "špəc" without any meaning change. It is a rocky peak that peeps out of the larches so that the sun can shine on it, and when you are there, you can look towards Virnikov Grintovec and beyond. Sitting on the top is nice at any time of the year. But undoubtedly, the most beautiful time to be here is autumn, before the yellow needles fall from the glowing larches.

And where do we go, how do we go on, where do we turn? It's best to go to Zgornje Jezersko and park your car in front of the crumbling building of Kazina. There's always more enough space. Then you start walking towards the parrochial church of St. Oswald. You might have a chance to look at the interior of the church, and then walk along the priest's house in the direction of Virnikov Grintovec. When you reach a new forest road, turn left and search for a trail beside the Žmitek house - it is marked with blazes. When you reach a little mountain pass (see the waypoints), turn left. Minutes later there is a rock boulder - to its left, climb up to the summit ridge using rope and ladder. After a few tens of metres you'll reach the top. A bench and the regular mountain logbook are waiting for you. The height difference is about 200 metres, and you will certainly not need as many minutes to reach the top. If you lose no time, you will enjoy the sun on the top already after walking for half an hour. There is no danger before the section under the very top, where you - and your kids - should take care.
