Geocache Description:

Located amoungst winding single track roads and Claustrophobic farm land, lies the atmospheric Quaker village of Jordans. This cache will test your nerves, and a visit during the darker hours is highly recommended.

Resurrection! The history of Jordans dates back to 1618 and a small farm house. William Penn the founder of Pennsylvania, along with his family and friends constructed the 'Mayflower Barn' which still stands today. Made from the timbers of the most famous ship in American history which sailed the pilgrim fathers from Plymouth to what is now New England, the barn is now a world famous tourist attraction.

Along with these oddities, many more are to be found in this strange secluded dwelling. First noted by 'Brad, Angie & Steph' (3 early cachers), a Large Pit, in fields close to the centre of the village, is being used as the local dumping ground. The original cache, which was placed here on 25/2/01, was itself dumped like rubbish, It has never emerged by who. Lets hope they are not watching you when you arrive at 'The pit near Penn'.

Dan, Pid & Mike planted this cache on 15th June, 2002. We would like to thank Brad, Angie & Steph for the idea of the location. You are looking for a 7 litre clear tupperware container which contains the usual array of contents.

There is limited parking avaliable at the entrance of the field ajoining the Pit. If you are visiting at night take care here.

Even experienced cachers should require a clue, so please remember to take a print out with you. Most importantly stay calm, gather your thoughts and be brave. The Pit gave us the creeps.

After finding the cache, please replace it in exactly the same way you found it, with the lid tightly sealed. Any photos will be welcomed so please post them here on your return. (Many thanks to P.Howard for 2 of the images used above, which were taken during his visit) Last and least, Good luck!

Dan & Pid.
