Geocache Description:

This cache is located in a county park with trails, ball fields, and a playground. (Posted park hours are 8am - sunset.)

DISCLAIMER: BY SEARCHING FOR ANY OF MY CACHES, YOU ARE ASSUMING ALL RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR ACTIONS. I WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE IN ANY WAY.

Team Gilligan Md adopted this cache Aug 2005. It was placed over three years ago by OUTSID4EVR & MAJELLIN. We wanted to adopt the cache rather than have it archived as it was our very first find back on 12/28/2003. Plus it's one of the older caches in this area. We still vividly remember the find, Dad (w/GPSr!) and Matt walking in circles while Amanda being the one to exclaim "I found it!" We scampered over and thought that it was just too cool that we found this 'treasure' in the nearby woods. Well, we treasure every find we have together in this busy life we lead. Amanda's looking at colleges now as a HS junior and Matt's starting high school. Dad remembers days as a child walking the stream and playing little league up on the field, and Matt played rec football for Parkville up on the field as well. While Jules, now 3, wasn't on this, our first find, she has been on 23 finds to date whether she remembers them all or not! She'll keep the 'Team' caching for years to come! It all started for the kids, but Debbie/Mommy will help us keep it up too! Afterall, she bought us that GPSr for Christmas 2003. We still love it!
For the most part the following cache description is as it was written by OUTSID4EVR & MAJELLIN, we just made a few notes to bring it current. Thanks again OUTSID4EVR & MAJELLIN...and Little Monkey!!!

(You can get VERY close to the cache by staying on the well-defined trails, but ,reception in this park is not very good, especially in the months of heavy tree cover.) A minimum of off-trail hiking is needed. I did not see poison ivy near the cache location (6/15/02). The cache is not in an area of heavy undergrowth. If you are getting tangled in vines, briars, or other plant material, you are doing something wrong! Also, you should not cross any private property or fences to reach the cache. Don't attempt to get to the cache by trespassing. (There is a cemetery adjacent to the park. Please park in one of the several parking lots provided at the park. Do not attempt to locate the cache by crossing the cemetery.

(The cache is now a watertight camping box - If you find 'tupperware' you have not found this cache. We replaced the original pretzel tub as it tended to allow too much moisture. We were able to salvage a few trinkets from the original cache, and have added some nice toys for the little ones. Play doh, a slinky, a small motorcycle, a small 'magic' 8 ball, a necklace, squirt guns, and a few other things as well. We'll keep this cache in good shape for the kids. Afterall, that's why we got into caching!) Please re-hide the cache in the obvious spot that you found it. Don't make it any easier (or more difficult) for the next cachers. It is not likely that non-geocachers will stumble across this cache.
