Bořanovický háj je fragment původního pralesu (stejný typ lesa najdeme na Ládvi či nedalekém Beckově). Ve středověku zde procházela kupecká stezka do kraje Litoměřiců. V 90. letech byl les ohrožován znečišťováním v podobě větrných nánosů odpadu z nedaleké Skládky Ďáblice, největší skládky u nás. V novém tisíciletí je však pravděpodobně systém ukládaní odpadu lépe zabezpečen, především zavožováním odpadků zeminou a budováním umělého kopce, a tak okrajové části lesa již nejsou ověšeny přilétavším igelitem či plastem.

EN: Forest at "Boranovicky haj" is a fragment of orginal old forest. In the Middle Ages there was a trade route from Prague the northern regions of Bohemia. In the 1990s, the forest was threatened by pollution of wind deposits of waste from the nearby Dablice's dump, the largest landfill in our country. In the new millennium, however, the waste disposal system is likely to be better secured, especially by dumping the waste with clay and building an artificial hill, and so the marginal parts of the forest are no longer covered with waste and plastic pieces.
