Geocache Description:

This geocache is in a particular place of National Park of Peneda and Gerês. Is is near the beautiful Peneda river in Tibo, a very nice high mountain place of Arcos de Valdevez.

The "Romeiro" geocache is in the old way for pelegrins (Romeiro is a pelegrin) to Sanctuary of Senhora da Peneda. The way comes from Lindoso, cross Varzea, Tibo, Beleiral and Peneda at the end. A distance of 16km of some hardness. The place is traditionally called "Couço" and represents a natural idyllic place. A wonderfull lagoon called "Ola do Couço" is waiting for you there. If you try to reach it, you must go with time enough to stay there one night, at most!

The geocache coordinates represent an old oak tree at the entrance of a set of old houses, just near the wall of the property. The geocache is inside the oak tree. The best way to go their is from Tibo. You can go there by car, parking there an then walking down around 500m. Ask the people where is the "Ponte Feia" ("ugly bridge").

History: The Ugly bridge was used for ancient people to go from Tibo to Olelas-Spain. Since the spanish cattle came to "our side", the locals destroyed it...
