(PT) Castro Laboreiro é uma vila portuguesa do concelho de Melgaço, situada na Serra da Peneda, planalto de Castro Laboreiro. A freguesia, com 89,29 km² de área e 540 habitantes (Censos 2011), situa-se na vertente nordeste da Serra da Peneda e na vertente oeste da Serra de Laboreiro. Densidade populacional: 6 hab/km². Foi vila e sede de concelho entre 1134? e 1855. Era constituído apenas pela freguesia da sede e tinha, em 1801, 1284 habitantes e, em 1849, 1512 habitantes. Foi novamente elevada a vila em 12 de Junho de 2009. Curral do Gonçalo, um lugar na freguesia de Castro Laboreiro, fica situado a uma altitude de 1166 m, tornando-se o 2º lugar habitado de mais elevada altitude em Portugal.

It was town and county seat between 1134? and 1855. It was constituted only by the parish seat and had, in 1801, 1 284 inhabitants and in 1849, 1512 inhabitants. Was again elevated to town on 12 June 2009. Curral do Gonçalo, a place in the parish of Castro Laboreiro, is located at an altitude of 1166 m, making it the 2nd inhabited place of higher altitude in Portugal.
