A GEO Meet & Eat Workshop on TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 15. Supper before this event will be held at the FINCH PIZZERIA at the reference coordinates from 5:45 PM to 7:00 PM.
The workshop begins at 7:10 PM at SNC (Posted coordinates) and goes until we reach a natural breaking point, usually a little after 9:00 PM.
Wherigo. It remains the newest cache type available for geocachers to publish. It promised to change the game of geocaching... but 7 years later we are still waiting. Some of us have hunted them down, but always with caution, listening to stories of freezing and the need to constantly save. The thought of creating a wherigo ourselves sounds impossible, or at least incredibly difficult and frustrating if the stories hold true. Well at this workshop I will show you how YOU can make a wherigo- no programming knowledge or extreme time needed!
How? Well, I don't want to write out my presentation, but the key of this BASIC presentation is Wherigo Kit, a web tool created by Ranger Fox, a pillar of the wherigo community. I have created a simple demo wherigo for geocachers to try before the workshop, and then during the workshop I will show you how I made it! Download the cartridge here, and try it out on your wherigo enabled GPS or using a phone app. NOTE- this will not lead to a geocache.
