Są takie miejsca na wylotach miast, ulokowane na trasach wylotowych, które mają tradycje związane z karczmami. Obecnie taka karczma zwykle jest restauracją albo hotelem, ale chodzi o to samo. Tu mamy drogę do twierdzy Modlin znana jako ulica Modlińska.
Gdzieś w latach 90. XX wieku, kiedy odkryto, że na Białołęce i Henrykowie ziemia jest tania, rozpoczęło się intensywne budownictwo. Jednym z pionierskich przedsięwzięć w tym rejonie był kompleks biurowo-usługowy Fort Piontek zlokalizowany przy ul. Modlińskiej niedaleko oczyszczalni ścieków Czajka. Projekt budynku był od początku dość ekstrawagancki i budził mieszane uczucia. Elewacja z czerwonej cegły, 4 dziwne wieże w narożach i dwie bramy. Ale taka radosna twórczość w architekturze polskiej trwa do dzisiaj i jego estetyka spowszedniała. A skąd nazwa - oczywiście od nazwiska. Za inwestycją stała m.in. Danuta Piontek (w 1991 roku 20 miejsce na liście najbogatszych Polaków).
Miejsce to znane jest jako Dąbrówka Szlachecka - w miejscu lokalizacji fortu w XIX wieku do roku 1913 mieściła się w prywatnym domu szkoła podstawowa (przeniesiona później na ul. Sprawną, od 1969 na ul Leśnej Polanki).
W każdym razie wobec braku takich obiektów w tej okolicy przez wiele lat obiekt jakoś sobie radził. Około roku 2002 obiekt przebudowano na hotel, ale zachowano funkcje biurowo-usługowe. Trudno powiedzieć coś o jego standardzie, bo po kolejnej zmianie nazwy na Hotel Fort kusi gości brytyjskim nastrojem. Mimo wszystko trudno sobie skojarzyć fort rodem z Dzikiego Zachodu z Londynem.
There are places located on exit routes, which have a tradition of taverns. Today, the inn is usually a restaurant or a hotel, but it is the same. Here we have the way to the Modlin fortress known as Modlińska Street.
Somewhere in between 90. of twentieth century, when it was discovered that Bialoleka and Henryków land is cheap, it began intensive construction works here. One of the pioneering projects in the region was a office and service complex named Fort Piontek located at Modlińska Street near the Czajka wastewater treatment plant. The building design was from the beginning quite extravagant and aroused mixed feelings. The facade of red brick, four strange towers at the corners and two gates. But such a joyful creativity in Polish architecture continues today and its aesthetics commonplace. And whence the name - of course, from the surname - Danuta Piontek (in 1991 on 20th place on the list of the richest Poles).
This place is known as Dąbrówka Szlachecka. At the location of the fort in the nineteenth century until 1913, housed in a private house existed primary school (moved later on the Sprawna Street, from 1969 on Leśnej Polanki Street).
Anyway, in the absence of such facilities in the area for many years it was somehow needed here. Around 2002 the building was remodeled as a hotel, but retains the functions of office and service. It's hard to say something about the standard, because after another change of name to Hotel Fort tempts visitors the British style. Still, it is difficult to associate the Wild West fort architecture to London.
