There is plenty of parking alongside the road within the village, but please leave enough room for large farm machinery to pass through and residents to get in and out of their driveways or to park outside their own house.
Nestled in the heart of the countryside, between Exmoor and Dartmoor, Roborough is a friendly village community situated just off the beaten track. There are five roads leading into the tiny village, so as a visitor it can be quite confusing!
Topographically Roborough is on the plateau between the Torridge and Taw Rivers. The parish covers an area of 1258 hectares and contains a population of some 258 parishioners. It is centred on a modest hill top village, which is surrounded by a pastoral landscape of rectangular fields, high hedges and scattered farmsteads. Roborough has a pub, a well used village hall which has been recently refurbished; years ago this used to be the local primary school, many Roborough residents remember their happy school days spent here; a church with an active congregation who are always putting on events in and around the village; and a chapel situated just outside the village at Ebberly.
The Fine Pair series was originally started by wizardsmum.
If anybody would like to place 'A Fine Pair' of their own please do, I would just ask that you let mattd2k at geocachingafinepair@gmail.com know first so he can keep track of the numbers and locations to avoid duplication.
He also keeps a public Bookmark List of this series so once your cache is published please contact him via his profile page to have yours added.
