If you would like the answers to these questions or any others you may have, please join us for an informal get-together/coffee meet and greet at the New Maryland Centre, Wednesday, September 2nd. We'll be meeting at 6:30 pm in Hall B, upstairs, and go until about 8:30 pm.
We've noticed quite a large number of new folks, both on our Fredericton Facebook page and in local cache logs, so thought this might be a good time for a Geocaching 101 night! Anyone may join us. No question is too silly. If you're brand new or have been caching for a few months, please drop in, grab a coffee and ask away! If you don't know how to do something, hopefully, we can help! We're not getting into anything too technical, just the basics for now. But we can probably point you in the right direction for those more difficult questions.
If you have a laptop, by all means, bring it with you. The NMC has WiFi and we'll be able to walk around and show you how to do things on your own computer under your own account on GC.com's site. We can also set you up with your own account if you haven't done that yet.
Though we're not really getting into GPS issues, if you have questions about yours, bring it with you and we'll see what we can do. There may be folks there who are familiar with the model you have and may be able to help.
We'll also have some samples of caches sizes, different Trackables, etc., for you to see up close and personal. And maybe a few prizes, too!
Old timers (veterans) are also welcome, naturally. We may even partner you with a newbie for some one-on-one.
We hope to see you there!
