This year, I have started to work on my goal to summit all of the Wasatch 11ers. On August 10th, 2015 I summitted Mt. Monte Cristo, and wanted to place a cache to commemorate my accomplishment. However, the summit is in a wilderness area, so I couldn't place a physical container there. Instead, I have created a whereigo cartridge that will require you to reach the summit to obtain the coordinates for the final.
Here is the link for the cartridge you will need to download onto a device that can play whereigo cartridges: http://www.wherigo.com/cartridge/download.aspx?CGUID=f2ec2e12-08b1-4fc4-ba6b-4435630229c0
You really don't need to open the cartridge until you are close to the summit, as all there is is a zone that triggers the coordinates being displayed. No need to kill your battery on the trip up.
There are a few different ways to summit Monte Cristo and you can research which way will be best for you. You are not required to go to the posted coordinates, but that is where I began my hike.
Once you have the coordinates, you'll have to hike to the final from the summit of Monte Cristo. You are looking for a small cammo'd tupperware container inside a waterproof bag. Anything else is not the cache! Please re-hide just as found. Happy Hunting!
