Owlbeech Way Car Park
Horsham
The aim of the day is to do some Heathland management (Birch removal) as well as path clearance (bramble and braken cutting) in the Owlbeech woods in Horsham, continuing on with the good work we have already done.
At this time we are planning on working on the "Pine Heath" see map below. Which is a new area to those we have worked on before, for those of you who have come along to the previous CITOs here. If you turn up late follow the purple Heathland Route east from the play area, until you see 2 nice shinny new metal gates and a wooden cattle carrel on your left and we should be there.
We are aiming to start at 10:00 am in the Owlbeech way car park. We will be supplied with tools and equipment and instructions on how to use it, but if you could bring your own gloves that would be helpful.
We plan to finish at around 13:00
The published co-ordinates are for the car park (RH13 6AW) next to the childrens play area in Owlbeech Way, please note this is NOT the car park that is on Harwood Road.
Refreshments will be supplied on the day, but if anyone wants to bring along some cake, I am sure it will be appreciated.
This is just one of the many events to be held across the UK, Ireland and Channel Islands as part of the GAGB Annual CITO weekend - which this year is concentrating on the conservational side of CITO.
