Priestfield Church was originally built as Rosehall United Presbyterian Church in 1879, opening in 1880. Following its union with Prestonfield Parish Church in 1974 the building was renamed Priestfield. It is of Italianate design by Sutherland and Walker and its towers form a landmark on the main Dalkeith Road. The building is listed Grade A by Historic Scotland and contains both a very fine set of stained glass windows and a very ornate pulpit. (Some information from the Church website www.priestfield.org.uk). During 2024, Priestfield is due to merge with nearby Mayfield Salisbury and Craigmillar Park Churches to form a new congregation called Newington Trinity. The Priestfield building is due to be retained as a base for Pioneer Ministry.
