Original description:
Since I don't drive, my caching is done by walking, cycling or public transport and this series reflects that. I have called it RCR i.e. Rail, Cycle, Rail because that's the way I did it! The series has 9 caches and is approximately 3 miles long between Thornton Abbey and Goxhill. It begins and ends with a SideTracked cache where I got on and off the train which runs between Cleethorpes and Barton on Humber. The caches can be done in any order and the route can be walked or cycled. Caches can also be done individually as drive bys, although the route cannot be driven around completely. All of the containers are slightly different but none of the hides are difficult and the series would be good for newbies. The hints are comprehensive, so experienced cachers may want to ignore them!
This cache is a disguised micro close to Thornton Abbey station. Thornton Abbey itself is well worth a visit and can be accessed via a footpath from the station or by the road. There is also another cache very close by!
About Thornton Abbey Station
Thornton Abbey railway station is a railway station close to the site of Thornton Abbey in North Lincolnshire, England. It was built by the Great Grimsby and Sheffield Junction Railway in 1849, replacing one at Thornton Curtis. It also serves the village of Thornton Curtis and is managed by Northern Rail. The station has a two-hourly service in each direction on weekdays.[1] All services are now provided by a Class 153 single unit railcar. The Sunday services is limited to summer months only and four trips each way.
