September is a time of warm days, cool nights, and old home days celebrations. Well, let's get together and have a Geocaching Old Home Day celebration of our own.
We will have a table set up on the town common from 10:30 until 2:00 PM. Please stop by anytime for a quick 5 minute visit or stay a couple hours and talk to old friends and meet new ones. NOTICE: This event comes with a parade that throws candy. This parade begins at 11:00 and goes until Noon. Please plan your arrival around Dunbarton's only yearly traffic jam.
We hope to also draw the attention of muggles and to educate them about our hobby. Please help me enlighten newbies of the fun we have, the challenge of the hunt, and the friends. Maybe show them a brief view of how the gps works.
Also set up this year will be Calador's grand mobile Geocaching store on wheels! This is must see! You can check out all the drawers of your favorite Geocaching supplies as well as the solar panels powering this awesome creation.
No meals will be served at this event, however those oldies next door to us will be giving samples of some dutch oven cooking. Feel free to bring your favorite snack and drink. A fold up chair is also recommended. There will be food vendors around the common. I understand the church makes a great apple crisp, and the best part is it is right next to our table. LOL
There are many caches in the local area. Some require boats, some require wading, some require long walks. There are short multis, interesting puzzle caches, and if that isn't enough, maybe some new caches will be published the day of the event.
Dunbarton has told us that there should be plenty of parking available around the common however, if needed, overflow parking will be at the school. A short .15 walk from the event.
