This scenic narrow canyon is located in the vast and pristine Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument.
It’s lined with Ponderosa Pines and Douglas Fir trees and is nice and shady in the narrow parts.
You will walk less than ¼ mile from the parking lot to the mouth of the canyon to find the cache. If you decide to hike past the cache you will see the amazing scenery pictured above. A hike of four miles up Lick Wash and past the cache will bring you to the cabin pictured below. It's an amazing place. Come for a hike not just the cache. The Grand Staircase offers nearly two million acres of endless exploration.
If you decide to hike past the cache it is level but rough terrain. It is a wash after all. Bring plenty of water. Even if it's not that hot it is still the desert. Avoid the area if we or rain is in the area.
