A Hike in History
Hike the area around East Canyon where the western travelers from the Donner- Reed party to Brigham Young and the Mormon pioneers passed in the mid-1800’s. See beautiful views of East Canyon State Park. Stay a while and take a boat out on the water.
The cache is located right off the trail. Be sure to follow the additional waypoints for parking and the trailhead. Once on the trail, it runs parallel to but well above the current shore line. There are small elevation changes as it crosses a few draws. It is an older trail which does not appear on the park maps. The younger park staff does not seem to be aware of it. If you have questions about the trail be sure to find a ranger to ask.
