To Reach the Sunshine Day Use Area you have Two Options:
1) Park at the recommended parking lot at Sunshine Village. Hike up the Sunshine access road for approximately 5 kilometers over 500 meters of elevation gain to reach the Sunshine Day Use area. Expect to take up to two hours to do this tedious walk through the trees. Remember that you will have to hike down at the end of the day so conserve your energy!
2) RECOMMENDED: For a small fee, you can ride a shuttle from the parking lot of Sunshine Village up to the Sunshine Day Use area. You may need to book well in advance as these shuttles fill up quickly. This will save you a bunch of time and energy.
From the Sunshine Day Use Area, follow the marked trails to the "Standish Lookout". Here you will be treated to a spectacular view of Rock Isle Lake and the Sunshine Meadows. Mount Assiniboine will be the tallest peak visible on a clear day. The geocache is slightly past the lookout area. Please be stealthy and make sure you rehide the cache well! This will ensure that it will remain well hidden for everyone!
