LRCT Meet and Greet Event Cache

      Join us on August 21st at 4:00 p.m. at the picnic tables near Shannon Pond on the Castle in the Clouds grounds for a quick meet and greet before heading out on some trails.

 

      The purpose of this event is to introduce people to this beautiful area with miles of trails maintained by the Lakes Region Conservation Trust. There will be a representative from this group who will be standing by to give you more information about their organization. 

      And of course, there will be some caches to find!  Ravengal, Gloves47, and I have been busy setting up some new caches that will bring you to some interesting sites along the way.  Some are micros and some are "kid friendly" ones.  We plan on being there an hour before the event if anyone new to this sport would like some tips on geocaching. 

There are also plenty of "old" caches in the area. You might consider coming earlier in the day to find the ones that are farther up in the mountains!

      To get to this event use the Ossipee Park Road off of 171 and park at the hiker parking lot at the top of the hill.  You do not need to come in the main gate for the Castle in the Clouds, where they charge a fee for a tour of the castle.  However, this might also be something to consider if you arrive early and want to learn about its history.
