Geocache Description:

CITO

This will be the Lowveld's first CITO event!

Please join us at this CITO Event, where we plan to clean up all the Geotrail sites along this road. Although this event will go together with the EarthCache Gathering event, which will start at 08:30 in Barberton, the aim of this CITO will be focused on the geosites along this route and to clean up all litter lying around in the areas of the eleven geosites. Cachers will gather at the EartCache event as above and then move to the geotrail.
At each geosite we will first gather for the very interesting and informative discussion from our guide about how these geological formations were formed. Thereafter 10-15 minutes will be allocated at each geosite for cleaning up before moving to the next site. There may not be that much trash lying around as dustbins are provided at each site but people tend to miss them. At the end of the trail, we'll take a photo of our effort and the event will be considered over but we can still stay for a picnic and a chat.

To log this event you have to be present at every geosite and your participation in the clean up must be evident in the amount of trash picked up to the satisfaction of the event organizers. It is also not compulsory for you to attend the EarthCache event for you to log this event.

Our small gesture will make a large difference to this wonderful environment and give back something to nature and for playing our game. We are very proud of this trail and wish to keep it presentable to visitors.

Date: Saturday, 8 August 2015
Time: 09h00 to about 14h00 or as soon as we have finished the trail.

Remember to bring along trash bags, gloves, and a cooler box filled with things to eat and to drink.

Be warned. There are no toilets, shops or fuel stations along this trail. We will travel for a distance of 37 km from Barberton on a narrow and winding road up to the Bulembu border post close to Swaziland. Also 37 km return to Barbeton. Budget for about 4 to 5 hours maximum. If you have a weak bladder then this trail could end as a serious challenge. Stock up in Barberton with drinks, toilet paper, shovel, snacks, fuel, etc. You do not need a 4x4 to do this. Sedan vehicles will be fine.

Remember that on Sunday team AdieA will be hosting the Barberton Yakkity Yak event.
