SiegiGeo

NHRR: When did you start geocaching?
SiegiGeo: May 15, 2005

NHRR: What prompted you to start geocaching?
SiegiGeo: My husband Tom and I got tired of getting in shape by walking up and down and around the same old blocks every day, so I went online and searched for more walking opportunities. When I came across Geocaching and read what it was all about, we were instantly sold, and went right out to try it out. We found our first cache, 0.5 mi down the road, we were hooked. The rest is history :)

NHRR: How many geocaches have you found in the last 10 years?
SiegiGeo: 5,026

NHRR: What is your favorite geocaching adventure?
SiegiGeo: Mama Birches is a favorite for sure. It was a great hike, with a bit of adventure, with a great group of friends.

Team Bullis

NHRR: When did you start geocaching?
Team Bullis: July 16, 2005

NHRR: What prompted you to start geocaching?
Team Bullis: I was on a business trip in Texas in 2004. There was some guys in the class from Pennsylvania and we started talking about hunting with GPS units. One of the guys then mentioned that he also used it for Geocaching and explained what it was all about. I forgot about it. Skip ahead to June of 2005 when we were invited to visit friends who were camping up near Squam Lake. I said I know there is a small mountain there called, Rattlesnake mountain, that we can all climb. I searched on the internet for more information about the mountain and the web page that popped up was the cache page. I read it over, noticed the coordinates and told Annie, hey, this is what that guy was talking about. Let's try it when we get up there. The cache was a classic hide of an ammo can in a hollow tree. We enjoyed it so decided to try another, and another, and another, and another...LOL!

NHRR: How many geocaches have you found in the last 10 years?

meandmydogs

NHRR: When did you start geocaching?
MAMD: July 18, 2005

NHRR: What prompted you to start geocaching?
MAMD: I was kayaking with my brother and my friend Joan on Lake Pawtuckaway. We were having lunch on Big Island when Joan's beagle dug up the cache, GCJNVW. My brother owned a Jeep and learned about geocaching due to the Jeep club he belonged to so he knew what it was. I went home and put in my zipcode and realized I walked the dogs past one every day...and the rest is history.

NHRR: How many geocaches have you found in the last 10 years?
MAMD: 17,721

NHRR: What is your favorite geocaching adventure?
MAMD: I really enjoyed doing the alien run (twice) and also when we took tram up Mount Washington and climed all over the presidentials.

NHRR: Do you have any recommendations for newbies?
MAMD: Go to events to meet and greet and learn.
