Fantastically Fiendish - Chesham Bois Common#7 Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

flemon: I'm sad to say that I'm going to archive this purely because there is no point just laying a cache for the sake of it. I've been trying to change the puzzle but it just ruins the desired effect, and I'm still not happy with the location.

It was good whilst it was still in use!

Geocache Description:

John went to the cricket last Sunday. He'd never seen a cricket match been played before, so this was somewhat of a new adventure for him. He went alone and brought a small bag with some sandwiches and a Mars Bar for when he got a bit peckish. But this was John, so the Mars Bar would probably be eaten with lunch anyway. The lovely cricket field was a peaceful place (only a few miles north of John's house), apart from the road nearby, and only the sound of the bad knocking the ball was heard. John watched carefully, picking up the rules as he went along. After the opening batsman was dismissed for fifty-one, John got out his jam sandwich and munched happily, listening to the birds cheep in the trees. The second batsman was on forty-one when John finished. He had lost concentration on the match whilst he had ate the sandwich, his mind was too busy thinking about the Mars Bar. But he was soon deeply occupied in the match. The dismissal of the third batsman was very quick. Almost a splits-second. One second, the bowler had swung his arm forward and released the ball towards the batsman, the next second, the wicket shuddered under the weight of the ball and flung the bails into the air. There was a roar of delight from the fielders. "What are they on?" John looked around to see a man sitting behind him. "Oh, I think its fifty-nine." John was wrong. It was actually a lot more than that. Westwards, the dull drone of a Cessna could be heard. It flew over the common, attracting the attention of the spectators, who put their hands above their eyes to shield them from the sun. After many overs, the fielders and the two batsman came in from the field and went into the Pavilion for a quick bite and a refreshing drink. John suddenly noticed the scoreboard outside the Pavilion. The runs had been reset back to zero, zero, zero for the next innings. John glanced at his watch. It was thirty-six minutes past the hour. His wife said that he need to be back at eight. He had plenty of time. It was soon eighty-seven for one. John watched until the last over. Suddenly, the heavens opened up and chucked it down until there were puddles all over the cricket pitch. The batting side were many runs ahead, so the umpires finished the match early. The batting side had won and shook hands with their opposition. John stood up and left, feeling quite satisfied about himself. He drove home, eating his Mars Bar. Put the container back where you found including the necessary camo over it.
