Geocache Description:

A cache with a difference.

This is a wheelie rubbish cache page.

We have 3 wheelie bins in our household:

1 Black

1 Green

1 Black with an Orange lid.

The waste permitted inside the black bin makes sense, general waste that can not be recycled.

Now to my mind, the green bin should be recycle, but our recycle bin is the one with the orange lid.

And again, to my mind, garden waste should be in a brown bin, but ours is green.

I believe every local authority has different colour schemes for their wheelie bins.

Wheelie bins also come in different sizes:

80 litres / 90 litres / 100 litres / 120 litres / 140 litres / 180 litres / 240 litres. Even a 270 litre FOLDING wheelie bin!!! And the list goes on.

Ours are all 240 litres.

The 240 litre bins come in a variety of colours:

Blue / Brown / Black / Green / Red / Yellow / Orange / Blue and Purple.

You can also buy locks for the wheelie bin lids!

My father used to work on the dust carts. He can remember having to walk down people's paths, sometimes into the back garden and LIFT & CARRY the metal bins to the dust cart as it waited by the kerbside. Then he had to manually empty the rubbish into the back of the dust cart. The metal bin then had to be returned to the place where he had collected it from. Door to door service. Those were the days (so I have been told).

So, when did wheelie bins come into play? My Black one has 1999 on the lid but I guess there are web sites with this information on. There are web sites for everything.

Now that you have read this cache page, I wish to remind you that this is a traditional cache, you could have skipped all this reading. After all, this cache page is wheelie rubbish.

HAPPY CACHING

*Remember, this is a cache with a difference. Wheelie good, or wheelie bad, only you can decide*
