Geocache Description:

A puzzle cache located on the mother of nearby Sheep Mountains and the final cache in our Sheep Series.

A series celebrating the proliferation of Sheep Mountains and other Sheeps of prominence in the Pikes Peak region.

The container is not at the posted coordinates. To find this cache you must simply find the 6 caches listed below (in any order), collect the unique puzzle piece from each and use those pieces to complete the puzzle. The 5/5 rating is for having to find all 7 series caches. This cache on it's own would be more like a 4/4 for the puzzle, elevation, rock hopping and bushwacking.

The way we got to Sheep Mountain was to come in the Cripple Creek side of Gold Camp Road (waypoint provided) to Forest Service Road 376 (waypoint). It takes about the same amount of time (under 1.5 hours) from Colorado Springs as coming from the Old Stage side but with less washboard. We drove the car and parked before the stream crossing at 376A (parking waypoint). I think it would take a serious 4x4 to attempt 376A so we walked up the switchbacked road to it's highest point (waypoint) and headed cross country toward Sheep Mountain. Our route was about 3 miles each way from 10.7K ft to over 12K ft and took about 4 hours round trip. If you've never been in this valley, it's the access to the new South Slope Recreation Area and it's beautiful. If you're a real cachochist there are other great caches in the area notably the must find Sport's Timber Flume

Special thanks to mugglepaul, my parents and kids for varying assistance.
