Geocache Description:

St Pauls is the Church of England parish church of Hasland. There has been a church here since 1850 when Ven. Thomas Hill, Archdeacon of Chesterfield and the Vicar of the Crooked Spire built the present church.

The cache is not at the listed coordinates, but you will need to go there to gather the relevant information to help you find it.

The actual coordinates are at .......N53 AB.CDE   W001 FG.HIJ and the questions you need to answer are as follows:

A) On commemorative plaque on wooden gate to left of church entrance. Number of letter Ls - number of letter Gs

B) On blue board. What is the first number of the Rectors telephone number?

C) On blue board, how many letters in the first word on the seventh line?

D) On stone set in wall. Number of letters in third line - number of letters in fourth line. Please note, in summer, this is obscured by a leafy plant.

E) The last number on the commemorative plaque on the wooden gate.

F) On stone set in wall. Total of words in first line - total of words in fourth line.

G) On which Thursdayof the month are baptisms and weddings arranged?

H) How many square holes in wooden gate?

I) On stone set in wall. Total letters in first line - total letters in second line.

J) On blue board, number of letter Rs in seventeenth line - number of letter Ws on the stone set in wall.

The cache can now be found a short distance away. You DO NOT have to go into the church grounds for any information or for the cache. Sorry not accessible to wheelchair users or pushchairs.

The cache can be found by a footpath a short distance away. With your back to the church you can turn right and walk along to the stone stile. Well, it used to be a beautiful ancient stone stile, but the council in its wisdom has decided to replace it with a new wooden gate; or turn left then walk or drive turning left at the roundabout. Both ways lead toward the cache.

***If anyone would like to expand this series please do, I would ask that you could let Sadexploration know first at churchmicro@gmail.com so he can keep track of the church numbers and names to avoid duplication. There is also a Church Micro Stats & Information page found via the Bookmark list***
