Geocache Description:

This is a church micro cache - although the clues are in the church the cache is not hidden in the church or churchyard. Please show respect too your surroundings.

In the 1840's the little hamlet of Herodsfoot became a boom town. There had been some lead mining nearby for centuries but the engine houses and new shafts appeared on either side of the valley, producing tons of lead and also some silver, copper and Tungsten. These minerals were all needed for the factories in the midlands. Soon there were bunk houses for the miners, four public houses, a school, but no church. With the encouragement of the vicar of nearby Duloe the miners collected enough money to build one and All Saint's Chuch was completed in 1850.

It is a small church looking over the village and has changed very little since Victorian times. It still has it's original pulpi, choir stalls and altar rail. The altar is still lit by seven oil lamps on special occasions giving it a timeless feel. The old grey Victorian windows were replaced in the year 2000 with colours that reflect the sunlight. The church is always open. Take only photographs and leave only your prayers.

you must enter the church to solve the clue to the cache.
