A freguesia de Boaventura é atravessada pela Levada da Achada Grande, Levada Grande, Levada das Faias, da Achada dos Alves e Pastel, e Levada da Achada ou do Serrão. Esta cache pretende dar a conhecer a Levada das Faias, também referida, no Plano Regional da Água, como Levada da Silveira da Boaventura.
A levada tem início na Ribeira do Porco, próximo do sítio do Lombo do Urzal, e estende-se até ao extremo oeste, acima do túnel rodoviário do Arco de São Jorge, passando antes pela Fajã do Penedo. A nível de conservação, está em boas condições e transitável, mas há um ponto de dificuldade acrescida, junto à localização da cache, onde a passagem tem de ser efetuada agachado, com os pés dentro na levada (ou nos bordos), mas só terá de o fazer se pretender seguir em frente, até à Fajã do Penedo. Para registar a sua visita não tem de atravessar esta zona, pode voltar para trás, seguindo os percursos recomendados.

Boaventura is crossed by several water channels (“Levadas”) which include the ‘Levada da Achada Grande’, ‘Levada Grande’, ‘Levada das Faias’, ‘Achada dos Alves’ and ‘Pastel’, and also ‘Levada da Achada’ (or ‘Serrão’). This cache has the intention to take you on a tour to the ‘Levada das Faias’, also referred to in the Regional Water Plan as ‘Levada da Silveira’.
The levada begins at Ribeira do Porco, near the population of Lombo do Urzal, and extends itself to west through the Fajã do Penedo until it reaches the lands above the road tunnel of Arco de São Jorge. It is well preserved and easy to walk, except in a point where the passage has to be accomplished crouched with the feet inside the water channel (or at its edges). You will have to cross this area only if you want to move on until Fajã do Penedo. If your intention is to search for the cache do not worry because the container is hidden before this area. Make your log and then you can return using the same path following the recommended waypoints.
