Horses can be tamed by offering them wheat and other approved foods. Once tamed they can be saddled and ridden, which increases effectiveness (and escape speed) in battle.
This cache has no preliminary requirements. It is a letterbox hybrid cache, and is not hidden at the posted coordinates. There is a hand-carved stamp and ink pad included in the container (please do not remove these items from the cache). Access is from either a neighborhood street or the W&OD trail (note that access from the bike trail is from the lower gravel path; a trailhead waypoint is given for park access from this trail). This is a slightly "wild" park so bug spray is recommended in the warmer months.
In order to find the cache, proceed to posted coordinates and locate the map that is displayed there. It will be helpful to have a camera in order to capture the map and refer to it as you are searching for clues. Clues are hidden in plain sight at the following locations:
- Bench = A
- Collision Course = B
- Johnny's Masterpiece = C
Apache Pitfall D = 3
- Sneaky Pete = E
- The Wharf = F
Once you have acquired the clues, use this formula to ascertain the coordinates to the cache:
N38 55.X W77 17.Y
where
X = [ (AxD) x (A+E) x (B+D) ] + C - 11
and
Y = [ (ExF) x (C+D+F) ] + (B-A) - 48
Back side of map
You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.
