Zdaj škarnik Čil prenaša noč,
in Mang, netopir, frli,
črede so v hlevih in v zavetju koč,
ker do zore smo prosti mi.
Ponosa čas je to, moči
čekanov, šape, glave.
O, čuj naš klic: vsem dober lov,
ki se drže postave!
Akela, veliki sivi samotarski volk, ki je vodil celo krdelo volkov, je tudi ta večer iztegnjen ležal na svoji skali, pod njim pa je sedelo vsaj dvajset, če ne še več volkov različnih velikosti in barv, od izkušenih veteranov, ki so znali sami opraviti z jelenom, do mladih, še povsem črnih triletnikov, ki so le mislili, da to zmorejo.
Pod skalo so prišli tudi Bagira, črni panter, zvijačen kakor šakal, pogumen kakor divji bivol in brezobziren kakor ranjen slon, Kača Kaja, katere njena moč je bila v njenem objemu, in kadar je koga omotala s svojimi velikanskimi svitki, je bilo vsega konec ter Balu, zaspani rjavi medved, ki uči volčje mladiče džungelske postave.
Spregovoril je Bagira, čigar glas pa je bil mehak kakor gozdni med, ki kaplja z dreves:
»Dragi Akela, volčje krdelo vodiš že več let in danes smo se vsi zbrali tebi v čast, praznuješ namreč rojstni dan! Zate smo pripravili posebno presenečenje:
Le sledi tej poti skozi džunglo in pomni moje mojstrske besede: “Noge, ki ne delajo šuma; oči, ki vidijo v temi; ušesa, ki slišijo vetrove v njihovih brlogih in ostri beli zobje”. Kajine luske z njene prejšnje kože ti bodo kazale pot! Konec poti boš z lahkoto prepoznal, saj smo tam nasuli vse preostale luske!«
Akela se je hitro odpravil po poti in kmalu prišel do cilja, kjer je navdušeno našel darilo! Darilo je seveda vzel s seboj, saj je bilo namenjeno le njemu, namesto njega pa je tam pustil lepo leseno škatlico, ki mu jo je izdelal Mavgli.
Če džungelski vetrovi in vode, ki se stekajo v Vejngango, še niso odplaknili Kajinih lusk, lahko poti slediš tudi ti!
Svojo lijano oz. drugo prevozno sredstvo lahko pustiš na označeni lokaciji, nato pa se odpravi do začetne točke! Od tam pa se le pogumno spusti po poti navzdol v smeri, kamor je tistega dne zašlo sonce. Po nekaj korakih boš zagledal pot! Dobro glejte, o volkovi!

Akela, the great gray Lone Wolf, who led all the Pack, lay out at full length on his rock, and below him sat twenty or more wolves of every size and color, from badger-colored veterans who could handle a buck alone to young black three-year-olds who thought they could.
To the rock also came Bagheera the Black Panther, cunning as jackal, as bold as the wild buffalo, and as reckless as the wounded elephant, Kaa the Rock Snake whose strength lay in his hug, and when he had once lapped his huge coils round anybody there was no more to be said and Baloo, the sleepy brown bear who teaches the wolf cubs the Law of the Jungle.
Then spoke Bagheera, whose voice was as soft as wild honey dripping from a tree:
»Dear Akela, you lead all the Pack for many years and today we have gathered in your honour as you are celebrating your birthday! We prepared a special surprise for you:
Do follow this way through the jungle and recollect my Master Words: “Feet that make no noise; eyes that can see in the dark; ears that can hear the winds in their lairs, and sharp white teeth”. Kaa’s scales from his previous skin will show you the way! You will recognise the end of the path with ease as we left all remaining scales there!«
Akela swiftly followed the way and soon he arrived to the end of the path, where he found the present! Of course, he took the present with him as it was meant for him. In it’s place he left nicely crafted wooden box, that Mowgli made for him.
In case that jungle wind and waters that flow together in Wainganga haven't flushed away Kaa’s scales, you can also follow the path!
You can leave your liana or whatever means of transportation you are using at designated location and then depart to initial coordinates! From there you have to bravely follow the road and descend in direction, where the sun set that day! After some steps, you should see the way! Look—look well, O Wolves!
