Welcome to Puerto Chiapas!

Puerto Chiapas is a wonderful port of call and a gateway to the great state of Chiapas, Mexico.  There are many interesting things to see here for locals and tourists alike.  You can learn about Mexico and perhaps watch beautiful Mexican folk dancers, especially when the cruise ships are in port.  There are restaurants, exhibits and a nearby swimming pool if you are so inclined.  Shops with local wares or trips to places of interest are staffed with friendly locals who will be happy to see you.  Taxis are quick to find you if you want a trip into town.

We recently visited this lovely stop from a Panama Cana cruise and of course wanted to find a cache while we were here.  But unfortunately, the nearest cache to the port is 23 miles away in the town of Tapachula.  We wanted to place a cache that both locals (by land!) or cruisers (by sea!) could access.  You can drive right up to the cache if you are local and if you are off a cruise ship you can take a 5 minute walk on the sidewalk for a Chiapas, Mexico smiley.

This nano cache should be an easy find as its purpose is to highlight a lovely area and promote more local caching.
