The Honey Moon is a traditional event for newlyweds, and June is the traditional month for weddings. So... this month Mondays in Manassas celebrates the honeymoon. According to Wikipedia (so it has to be true), it is a period in which newlyweds share some private and intimate moments that helps establish love in their relationship. Dating back to the 1500's, the honeymoon is a tradition in many cultures ranging from Europe to the Middle East and South Asia. All have similar names which include "honey" and "month" or "moon" (many languages use the same name for both "moon" and "month")... except for the not-so-optimistic Hungarians who have only "honey weeks."
As an example of a typical honeymoon, Joan and I rented a cabin on the shore of Lovesick Lake (honest!) where our boat almost got washed over a dam after the boat hit a submerged rock and sheared off the propeller while we going to getting first aid supplies after the oven in the cabin exploded, giving Joan first and second degree burns. It was a memorable honeymoon.
Everyone is welcome. Be sure to bring your appetite, your geocaching stories, and trackables to share. We'll even listen to your honeymoon stories.
