Lovely Hillcrest Park is being slowly taken over by English ivy, a Class C invasive species. Please join us for a couple of hours to help clean up the park. The species can be controlled by hand pulling. Removing the ivy will make a real difference to the trees and understory plants. Plus it is a great way to give back to the community for the awesome geocoin challenge event held the day before.
The event will be held from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. We will meet at the gazebo. Mount Vernon Parks and Rec will supply some tools. Water will also be supplied. Feel free to bring gloves, clippers and loppers.
