Today, visitors have no reason to fear the three terrors of the fire swamp. The last known flame spurt froze forever during the Armistice Day Blizzard of 1940, and the lightning sand was transformed into safe, regular sand as the region were drained to plant more potatoes. I hear you say, "...what about the R.O.U.S.'s?" Rodents Of Unusual Size? I don't think they exist.
To learn more about fire swamps, you should watch the 1987 film, Princess Bride. In fact, you might want to watch it twice. Maybe fifty times just to be sure.
