Chris the Croc
While your at the museum come and check out the inspiration behind our fossilized Pre-Registration coin!
Chris the Croc (Terminonaris Robusta) was found on the banks of the Wilson River, not that far from Dauphin by Chris Tait, who generously donated Chris to the Fort Dauphin Museum. Chris was a marine crocodile and his fossil dates back more than 90 million years. He is one of the oldest marine fossils found in Manitoba. Chris is 1 of only 7 fossils of this particular type of marine crocodile found in the world! Chris would have been a top-tier predator, snacking on smaller fish and reptiles.
