Geocache Description:

Stretton was named by the Saxons for its position beside the Roman Ermine Street. St Nicholas' Church has stood here for 900 years, with a puzzling history of many items. In 1185 Robert de Brus, ancestor of the King of Scotland granted it to the Knights Templar. The church was greatly extended in C13th

“If anybody would like to expand this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first at churchmicro@gmail.com so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication. There is also a Church Micro Stats & Information page found via the Bookmark list ” Parking can be found close by in the village and the cache is only a short walk away - please bring something to sign the log :o)
