Geocache Description:

A series of 5 caches, including 3 Little Bridges along a Dramway that we explored recently and we had not walked along before. This is what I love about Geocaching, it takes you to new areas, sometimes right on your door step that you didn't even know existed.

This is a South Gloucestershire Little Bridges, Multi-cache. The bridge includes a substantial Victorian tunnel and is found at the Way-point: N51 28 . 368 W002 28 . 803
This cache is the 4th in our Dramway Series.

Due to the bridge being too near to another cache, information gathering needs to be done at this spectacular tunnel mouth, where at the far end you will find a circular ceramic information plaque. Either side of this tunnel has been completely cut off, it was formerly a road bridge, with the tunnel spanning a length of the locally known Dramway.

The following information needs to be gathered, to do the calculations for the cache co-ordinate:

A. This was a tunnel bridge going along a length of the Avon and Gloucestershire what? Record
the number of letters in your answer.

B. It is one of a number of structures associated with what, going to the river? Record the number
of letters in you answer.

C. What form of transport was used to get the cargo to the river? Record the number of letters in
your answer.

D. When was this route and it's structures opened?
1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th = 4 digit year.

E. When was this route and it's structures listed?
1st = number of letters in the month. 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th = the 4 digit year.

F. Where was the cargo sourced? (2 words, starts L, ends S). Record the number of letters in each
word. 1st = 2nd =

Do the following calculations, to find the cache co-ordinate:

N51 (D3rd - D4th) (B + F2nd) . (F1st - E2nd) (E3rd -F1st) (D1st - D4th)

W002 (E1st - D1st) (E4th - E2nd) . (D2nd - D4th) (C - A) (E5th + B)

N51 ___ ___ . ___ ___ ___ W002 ___ ___ . ___ ___ ___

The Little Bridges series was started by Stanthews in 2009 to highlight small footbridges in remote parts of Wiltshire. Since then the series has been expanded by others all over the country and starting to spread fast, Damian from Winter Foxes has created and updates a list of cachers who has found 10 or more little bridges and can be found here, if you would like to add to the series, please contact Stan here and he will give you a number for your bridge, to qualify, the bridge must be a foot bridge too small for vehicles, please make sure your title exactly matches “Little Bridges # xx then name” including spaces so it will get picked up and added to Damian’s list.
