Geocache Description:

This cache is a relatively easy find just outside the church boundary.

A house and garden occupied by Micaiah West was licensed for Baptist worhip in 1820. The chapel is built of coursed rubble with a rendered gable front and pointed arch windows. It opened in 1823 and a schoolroom was built in 1843.

The interior was refittted and the windows altered in 1889. Open air baptisms took place in the 19th century. the chapel at Nettleton remains open and has a very pleasant and tidy graveyard.

“If anybody would like to expand this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first at churchmicro@gmail.com so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication. There is also a Church Micro Stats & Information page found via the Bookmark list ”
